Goldeneye 007 was released on January 25, 1997 on the Nintendo 64 by Rareware. This game is considered to be the father of all First Person Shooter games, and the best of them all. In my opinion, games like Call of Duty, Halo, Duke Nukem, Doom, and Quake are NOTHING compared to this epic game of all time. Also this game supported the Rumble Pak, in which you could feel the vibration as if you were firing a real gun. Goldeneye had a Multiplayer mode, in which players could duel against their friends or family members like siblings and cousins. Plot. This game is mainly based on the 1995 movie of the same name. In the beginning, James Bond is on a mission to destroy a chemical weapons factory in Russia during the time of the Soviet Union, though he is successful, his partner Alec Trevelyan is killed. Nine years later, a new weapon is made by the Russians, it's named: Goldeneye. This weapon has the power to fire a laser, causing electromagnetic pulse that is capable of destroying everything nearby. Bond is sent to investigate what the criminal organization named Janus is up to, and the leader is none other than his former partner. Now Bond teams up with a computer programmer, and together they will take down Janus. Scarface: The World is Yours was released on October 5, 2006. I love this game and it was very similar to the Grand Theft Auto games but it is also quite difficult, the more you progress of course. I think that it is almost the same style since you can mug, kill, carjack and even sell the yeyo in the streets of Miami, Florida. This game is a quasi-sequel to the 1983 movie starring: Al Pacino, Steven Bauer, Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert Loggia. The game also has a commercial of the special edition of the famous movie. Plot. Taking place where the movie ends, Tony is able to detect his killer and shoots him. He then escapes through a secret passageway in the mansion. After his escape, Tony regrets everything he did which caused the deaths of his beloved sister Gina, his mother, his friends and also killing his best pal Manny. He then swears revenge on Alejandro Sosa for taking everything he had. Three months later, Tony Montana sets himself on a quest to rebuild his empire and his reputation. He must go through Miami, The Bahamas and finally Bolivia to take down Alejandro Sosa. But before he does he must fight vengeful enemies such as, Gaspar Gomez, Nacho Contreras and the Diaz Brothers. On March of 1993. The first Star Fox was released and met with a great success with it's 3D Animation, Story and plot summary. Then on 1997, Fox McCloud came back with a vengeance. Actually this is one of the first games I played for the N64. And my first game since I got my N64 console. And I enjoyed this game. The characters had their real-time voice instead of saying gibberish like in the first game and also like in Star Fox: Command. Star Fox will always live on in the memories of many fans of the series. The music sounds really cool also, and I love it also. The game was re-released on the Nintendo 3DS on September 9, 2011 Plot. A remake of the 1993 Star Fox game. The plot begins where the Lylat System was once a peaceful galaxy and that was until the evil Andross came, his desire for power caused his expulsion from Corneria by General Pepper. When strange activities emerge from Venom; James McCloud, Pigma Dengar and Peppy Hare are sent to investigate. When they arrive, Pigma betrayed his teammates and Peppy barely escapes, then a few years later the son of James McCloud, Fox forms the new Star Fox team along with Falco, Slippy and Peppy. And together they fight to put an end to Andross. Halo 2 was released on November 8, 2004 by Microsoft and Bungie Studios. Halo 2 is the direct sequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, and it is the most played and successful one among Halo fans. This game got me off of my chair with it's graphics, storyline, music, and epicness. I must say that Halo 2 is BEYOND epic, and it's WAY better than Halo 3. Halo 2 also introduced a new main character, Thel 'Vadam, a disgraced soldier in the Covenant Army who is battling against The Flood. This game featured new graphics, and was released on both the original XBOX and PC. Plot. The story begins with Thel 'Vadam a.k.a The Arbiter , being on trial for not preventing the destruction of Halo. Despite his claims about The Flood hampering his abilities, he is found guilty of all charges and stripped of his rank. The story then switches to the Orbital Defense Platform Cairo Station, where Master Chief SPARTAN-117 recieves the new MJOLNIR Mark VI armor from the Master Gunnery Sergeant, Avery Johnson is promoted to Sergeant Major and arrives to take Master Chief to a ceremony where he will be regarded as a war hero. But the party is cut short by Cortana, who reports an imminent attack by the Covenant. The Arbiter is given a chance of redemption by leading Covenant troops on mission, in which soon they will once again battle against The Flood. Soon The Arbiter and Master Chief will cross paths and battle the same enemy. Originally released by Microsoft and Bungie Studios on September 30, 2003. Halo: Combat Evolved is a FPS (first-person shooter) video game that has become a cult classic among FPS and XBOX superfans. The game is considered to be one of the best first-person shooters by many, since the release of early FPS games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Doom, Quake, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and so on. It introduced a new hero, that is shrouded in mystery, just like Samus Aran from Metroid. He is Master Chief, a soldier of the SPARTAN-II Program. Now, I don't have a 360, but with Halo Reach around the corner, I decided to do Halo fans like myself a favor. Plot. In the early 22nd Century, the universe faces a brutal unrest, as governments and factions fight for the control of Earth and it's colonies. Then in the 24th Century, the UNSC, develops a new group of super soldiers known as SPARTANS, this is known as the SPARTAN-II Project. Now, humans face an intergalactic threat, a religious hegemony of alien species known as The Covenant. The sole purpose of this hostile race, was the complete obliteration of the human race. One day, the Pillar of Autumn flies to a ringworld known as Halo, and their mission is to find it's purpose. When they are attacked, they send their best soldier, Master Chief, to go to the ringworld and destroy it, along with the covenant, and yet another lethal yet infectious race known as The Flood. Final Fantasy XII was released on March 2006 in Japan, then in Halloween 2006, the most memorable game in history came to our soil. In my opinion this is one of the best Final Fantasy games that I have ever played, and it has become a historical moment in creating this game. The magic of Final Fantasy will never go out as long as there fans that are faithful to the series, and the creators like Sakaguchi, Nomura, Kayano and Uematsu making the magic of this series bigger and bigger. I could not make a review of Final Fantasy XI, neither will I make XIII because I have not played them yet. Besides, I'm not a very big fan of MMORPG. This is the last review for my Final Fantasy week. Plot. The game begins in the world of Ivalice, Princess Ashe has wed Prince Rasler Heios Nabradia, heir to the throne of Nabudis. But in the meantime, the Archadian Empire has been taking over Ivalice's nations one by one, and the Kingdom of Dalmasca is attacked, and after a grueling battle, the Kingdom regretfully declares its defeat. 2 years later, a young man named Vaan who wants to be a sky pirate is called to adventure. Many allies come, and including Princess Ashe, who was thought to be dead. And also Captain Basch Fon Ronsenburg, a loyal knight who has been branded as a traitor comes to help. They join so they can restore Dalmasca and put an end to Archadia's invading schemes. Final Fantasy X2 is the first sequel of the Final Fantasy saga before the successful sequel of FF7 which was made into a movie called "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children". Final Fantasy X2 was considered not the greatest game but only just a regular sequel. The game was released on March 2003 in Japan, then released in November on the same year in North America. Final Fantasy X-2 features new plot outlines, new characters, new monsters, and new dangers in the mystical waterworld of Spira. Plot. Two years have passed since Tidus, Yuna and others battled and defeated Sin. The Eternal Calm has plunged Spira into a new golden age of prosperity. However, there are still some tensions in the world such as the conflict between the Youth League, and New Yevon. Yuna lives a quiet life since her victory against Sin, but still she feels empty without her love, Tidus. One day, Kimahri shows her a sphere of a man resembling Tidus, and so Yuna begins a new life as a Sphere Hunter, alongside her cousin Rikku, and a new partner, Paine. They form the Gullwings, a band of Sphere Hunters comprised of six members: YRP, Brother, Buddy, and whiz kid Shinra. New dangers threaten Spira, and Yuna must once again save her world from possible destruction, worse than the ones that Sin caused in the past. Originally released in Japan on the summer of 2001, this great game hit American shores on December 2001. Final Fantasy X is the first game that landed on the PlayStation 2. This is the tenth installment in the Final Fantasy series, that had many surprising changes and new element features. This included voice acting and real time facial expressions. Final Fantasy X is highly praised by fans as much as the previous games were praised all these years Plot. The story begins with Tidus, a young man who comes from Zanarkand. However, one night during a game of blitzball, his town is attack by a raging demon known as Sin. His mentor, Auron takes him to the mystical world of Spira. There he meets Yuna, Wakka, Kimahri, Rikku and Lulu. He learns that summoners go on a pilgrimage to defeat Sin and that his hometown, the place where he claims to be from, has been destroyed 1000 years ago. When he gets further, he learns painful truths and much more than all that. Released on July 7th of 2000 in Japan, this game arrived here in the good old US of A on November 14, 2000. Final Fantasy IX is the nineth installment of the series and the final game for the PS1. This game returned to the world it begun in the series, in a magical medieval world, where there is some small technology, only this time there is more than one world in this game. This is considered to be a greater success than Final Fantasy VIII, and it is my third Final Fantasy game with Final Fantasy IV being the fourth I played. I love this game more than FF8, characters are funny and the game has many comical and defining moments, which makes this game a great success. Plot. The story is amazing and perfectly well done, it begins in the world of Gaia where a thief named Zidane Tribal leads a band of thieves known as Tantalus to kidnap the heiress to the Alexandrian throne, Garnet Til Alexandros a.k.a Dagger. Soon they learn from Garnet that her "mother" Queen Brahne is acting weird, that it was her will to let herself be captured and Regent Cid's as well who hired them. Soon Zidane meets Vivi and other allies to join in what's to become a more adventuresome quest yet. Truly a great story for an even better Final Fantasy game yet. |
