Plot. Many years on a Floating Continent, a technological civilization sought to harness the power of the four elemental crystals of the unnamed planet. But they could not control such power, and the world would have been covered in darkness if the crystals of light did not have their dark counterparts. The Dark Warriors restored harmony to the world at that time. One day, an earthquake opens a hidden cavern in the village of Ur, and four orphans go to explore it. They encounter the Wind Crystal, and they are chosen to be the Warriors of Light. They are granted powers and Job classes, and begin a journey to save the world from evil.
Originally released in Japan for the NES on April 7, 1990. For many years, this was the only game to not have an English localization until November 14, 2006, when it was released for the Nintendo DS. Final Fantasy III is one of the earlier games in the series, which introduces new characters, setting, class changing, and so on. This also marked the return of the experience level system, that was absent since the ill-fated Final Fantasy II.

Final Fantasy II was originally released for the Famicom in Japan back in the late 80s. This game was never released in America, so players experienced Final Fantasy IV for the SNES as Final Fantasy II. This game would not be released in America until Final Fantasy Origins in 2003, Dawn of Souls in 2004 and also for the PSP in 2007. This game is not very popular due to the kind of difficulty it has. Plot. The game begins when the world has fallen into darkness, towns and other countries are being invaded by the powerful Palamecian Empire, and many Kingdoms had to make resistance groups. Meanwhile in Fynn, the town is overwhelmed where one of their most loyal people sells out the resistance to the Empire, thus making him a general. Four young people who lost their parents at the hands of the Empire are pursued, their names are Firion, Maria, Guy and Leon. They get severely wounded and then rescued by Princess Hilda of Fynn, who has established a resistance base in the village of Altair. The youths decide to join the rebels in order to take the Empire down for good. Final Fantasy is where it all began and the magic of the saga growing bigger and bigger over the years and how it has evolved. This game prevented Squaresoft from going broke thanks to Sakaguchi's creative game and Nobuo Uematsu's perfect composing. Originally released in Japan in the Winter of 1987, the first game of the great saga came in to North America in the summer of 1990. At the time before the development and creation of the game, Square-Enix, then known as only Squaresoft, was on the verge of bankruptcy, but thanks to the efforts of Hironobu Sakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu, and others, the company was saved from it's inminent downfall. Plot. The world is shrouded in darkness: the wind dies, the seas turn violent, fire incinerates everything, and the earth starts to rot. The only hope of the people is a prophecy: When darkness veils the world, four warriors of light will come to their aid. At the end of their journey, each of them holds a crystal in hand. When they appear, their first quest is to rescue Princess Sarah of Cornelia, who was captured by a former knight, Garland. After defeating Garland, the warriors begin a quest to save the world, and enlighten the world's darkened crystals. Metroid Fusion is a direct sequel to the perfectly successful Super Metroid. This is one of my favorite Metroid Games with Super Metroid still at the top of my list. I just really love this game and it has such a great storyline. Metroid Fusion was released in November 2002 in North America, then released in Valentine's Day 2003 in Japan. The game was given global acclaim after it's release, featuring enchanced graphics, a new storyline, and a new gameplay as well. Plot. Some time after the events in Super Metroid, Samus Aran is called by the Biologic Space Laboratories to investigate new readings in SR388. While escorting marines into the caves, she encounters a lethal creature, which after destroying it, a parasite comes out and sticks itself to Samus' body. When she loses consciousness, she is taken by paramedics after her ship crashes launching her escape pod. However, thanks to the vaccine which was extracted from the last Metroid, she was saved from certain death, but she suffered a physical change during operation. She heads to the B.S.L. station, and finds it deserted and the parasite known as X have invaded it, however, there is something far more dangerous behind this attack. And it is up to Samus Aran to save the galaxy once again. Super Metroid was released in Japan on March of 1994, and then April of 1994, the classic Metroid game came to American soil. This is the third installment and yet most successful Metroid game in the series. I remember that everyday after school I used to play it a lot, and even after my homework. I really loved this game because of it's style, story and gameplay. Plot. Taking place after Metroid II: Return of Samus, the galaxy seems to be in the brink of peace and citizens are secure that under the watchful eye of bounty hunter Samus Aran, there is nothing to fear from the Space Pirates. When Samus Aran escapes from SR388, she encounters a baby Metroid known as the hatchling. She takes it to the Ceres Space Station for the scientists to study. When Samus leaves she picks up a distress signal, discovering that the colony is under attack. When returning to investigate, she encounters Ridley, who has resurrected since their last battle. He steals the hatchling and destroys the colony, and Samus quickly flies following him to her old home, Planet Zebes. So Samus must get the hatchling back, before the resurrected Space Pirate force use the hatchling for their own evil purposes. Metroid II: Return of Samus is the sequel to the original Metroid for the Game Boy. Released in October 10, 1992, this game is considered to be one of the less remembered Metroid games, and not the most praised of all the games. This game, however, is well known for it's nerve-wrecking difficulty that had gamers cry and scream, and making them want to throw their Game Boy, or simply get the cartridge out and throw it to the wall. This is my next Metroid review, since I am looking forward to Metroid: Other M. Plot. Samus Aran has been hunting Metroids and Space Pirates for a time, and she is always called to action whenever there is a problem. With the Metroids growing as a threat to galactic civilization, Samus is called to action once again. Her mission: to eradicate all Metroid organisms on their home planet, SR388. Now she heads to the caverns below, and she finds more lethal creatures and Metroids than the previous once she encountered. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was released on August 27, 2007 on the Nintendo Wii. This is the third and final installment in the Metroid Prime series, and yet the best one out there. This is one of the best games that has been released on the Nintendo Wii. This game continues Samus Aran's adventures and fighting against the Phazon threat, and also features the return of the vengeful Dark Samus. This game has featured new and improved graphics, new characters, and voice acting. Except that Samus still does not verbally talk until Metroid: Other M. Plot. Taking place after Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Samus returns to the Galactic Federation HQ. There she recieves a briefing from her superiors, that a computer unit known as the Aurora Unit was malfunctioning and infected by the Space Pirates with a virus. However, the pirates attack the Federation, and Samus, along with Bounty Hunters such as: Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda, must retake the base, and defeat returning foes from the past. But things will soon come to light. The first Metroid game was released in 1986 and met with a big success and the beginning of a legacy. Then 18 years later, it is re-released to the GBA as Metroid: Zero Mission and it is met with almost the same success as it's original predecessor. It has a more expanded story of Samus Aran's first mission in Planet Zebes where evil haunts the caverns below. Since I am getting hyped for Metroid: Other M, I will post Metroid reviews this week. The game continues the traditional 2D gameplay, with enhanced music, graphics and gameplay. Plot. The story of Metroid begins when Samus arrives on Planet Zebes to face the Space Pirates, an evil alien race led by Ridley and Mother Brain to wreak havoc in the universe. The Federation sends the bounty hunter on a mission to eliminate all hostiles on Zebes, destroy the Metroids and defeat Mother Brain. After completing her task, she is ambushed and crashes back to the planet, and so an adventure of survival, and danger begins. Originally released in Japan on September 27, 1996, then released in America on November 5, 1996. Wave Race 64, is one of the most unique sports games of all time. This is my review for August of 2010, so let's hop on our jet skis with this review, and say goodbye to the summer of 2010. With the summer coming to an end, and the school year upon us gamers, I wanted to write this review. Plot. There is no plot for this game, since it's sports of course. Controls. On the N64 the A button was used for acceleration while you maneuvered your character with the joystick. While using your joystick, you can perform various tricks: Up and down, you'd perform a hand stand, counter-clockwise, you'd make your character spin, and clockwise, he/she would ride the front of the jet ski while looking behind. While jumping ramps, you can perform many stunts such as: backflips, double backflips and so on. Originally released in Japan on November 21st, 1998, the classic Zelda game arrived 3 days later on American soil. This game was a worldwide phenomenon once it came out, and it is my most favorite Zelda game yet, it is so unforgettable, epic and powerful. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time revealed the origins of Link, Zelda, Ganon, Hyrule and the Triforce. Many gamers worldwide loved the game as much as I did. The most happy day of my life was when I got it for Christmas in 98, I was 12 years old. The game was re-released on the Nintendo 3DS on Story. The story begins with the origins of Hyrule, three goddesses descended upon the chaotic land of Hyrule. Their names were Din, Farore and Nayru. After creating the world of Hyrule, they left behind three sacred triangles, and it's resting place was known as the Sacred Realm. Early one morning, a young boy named Link has a nightmare he has every night. He would stand in front of a massive castle, a white rider carrying a girl would race by, and she looks at him as if to say something, then another rider appears; a man clad in black looking menacingly at the young boy. Then he is called by the Deku Tree to break a curse on him, and he is told that he is the one who will save the world from the clutches of evil, and to meet Princess Zelda, but not before taking a magical stone with him. What goes beyond this journey, goes beyond imagination. |
