Plot. Two years have passed since Tidus, Yuna and others battled and defeated Sin. The Eternal Calm has plunged Spira into a new golden age of prosperity. However, there are still some tensions in the world such as the conflict between the Youth League, and New Yevon. Yuna lives a quiet life since her victory against Sin, but still she feels empty without her love, Tidus. One day, Kimahri shows her a sphere of a man resembling Tidus, and so Yuna begins a new life as a Sphere Hunter, alongside her cousin Rikku, and a new partner, Paine. They form the Gullwings, a band of Sphere Hunters comprised of six members: YRP, Brother, Buddy, and whiz kid Shinra. New dangers threaten Spira, and Yuna must once again save her world from possible destruction, worse than the ones that Sin caused in the past.
Characters. The characters have changed since the first game. Wakka and Lulu have wed, and are about to have a baby, and Kimahri is the leader of his own tribe. There are new characters such as Meyvn Nooj, leader of the Youth League, Baralai, praetor of New Yevon and Gippal leader of the Al Bhed digging company. And there are of course many recurring characters from the FFX. Paine is my favorite character in the game, because has this cold personality, bad ass looks, and is a female version of Squall.
Rantings. I kinda found the YRP team to be a cheesy resemblance of Charlie's Angels, and also I hated one of the quotes of the game, with the Gullwings calling themselves "Your Friendly Neighborhood Gullwings". That was a cheap ripoff of Spider-Man's tagline right there. My most hated dressphere has to be the Mascot, I found it to be stupid. And I could not agree more with Paine on hating the Songstress dressphere. The mini-game of blitzball cannot be played like in FFX, which really had me disgusted.
Good Aspect. The mini-game of Sphere Break is fun to play, although complicated due to having to know how to add, and multiply. Also I really liked how storylines were divided, and then more complete with New Game Plus. Some of the mini-games are also fun to play. The hunt for Secret Spheres leading to the Den of Woe was also an important factor, revealing more horrifying truths.
Music. The music is quite impressive even if it does not have the composing of Nobuo Uematsu who is known as the John Williams of Final Fantasy music to many fans of the series. The two songs such as "Real Emotion" and "1000 Words" are sung by Jade from Sweetbox. So in the intro Yuna unleashes her inner Shakira with those dancing moves.
Overall 7.5/10: For me the game had potential but the story was wayoff, although the graphics had stayed the same. So I give this a 7.5/10
