Plot. The story is amazing and perfectly well done, it begins in the world of Gaia where a thief named Zidane Tribal leads a band of thieves known as Tantalus to kidnap the heiress to the Alexandrian throne, Garnet Til Alexandros a.k.a Dagger. Soon they learn from Garnet that her "mother" Queen Brahne is acting weird, that it was her will to let herself be captured and Regent Cid's as well who hired them. Soon Zidane meets Vivi and other allies to join in what's to become a more adventuresome quest yet. Truly a great story for an even better Final Fantasy game yet.
Good Aspect. What I really like about this game is how Square-Enix did a great job with the characters, storyline, and the environment of the game's world. I also liked the fightings and characters with classes, although there was no class changing in the game. Tetra Master mini-game was like a remake and easier version of the Triple Triad game from Final Fantasy VIII, and also evolving Chocobos to get into farther places was a lot of fun as well
Bad Aspect. I actually did not liked how some monsters were playing hard to kill and getting an easy game over from them. Well, that's how some RPG games are supposed to be. Using Moogles to save was kind of way off in my opinion by calling them in the world map. Why use moogles when you can use save points and choose tents by yourself? That's what I did not like about this game, using moogles to save, set a tent and so on.
Music. Nobuo Uematsu composed with a piano and used two contrasting methods: "I create music that fits the events in the game, but sometimes, the event designer will adjust a game event to fit the music I've already written." Uematsu felt Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII had a mood of realism, but Final Fantasy IX was fantasy, so "a serious piece as well as silly, fun pieces could fit in." He felt the theme was medieval music, and was given a break to travel in Europe for inspiration - "looking at old castles in Germany and so on." The music was not entirely composed in the medieval mode, Uematsu claims that "it would be unbalanced" and "a little boring". (Wikipedia.org) In my opinion Final Fantasy music is not the same without Mr. Uematsu
Characters. Most of the characters have their moments and they are very comical. Quina, Steiner, Eiko and Zidane made me laugh throughout this game. I loved Princess Garnet and Freya's stories as well. Amarant Coral is somewhat one of the biggest loners I have seen. Cid once again makes his appearance as a Regent, and does not join the party in battle.
Overall. Final Fantasy IX continues to inspire me, I recommend Final Fantasy fans to play this great game. I give it a 10 out of 10. God bless and take care gamers.
