This game is hard, yet very entertaining, and it is one of the first skateboarding and surfing games long before Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and TransWorld Surf: Next Wave ever existed. This game will give you some punishment as well as some merriments and laughter. I decided to do this review since either some of you have spring breaks, or ended, so let's just hop on to our skateboards and surfboards on the beach, since it's Spring time and Summer is coming on June.
Gameplay. Players can choose as one out of four characters of the Town and Country Surf Designs: Joe Cool, Tiki Man, Thrilla Gorilla and Kool Kat. There are three game tournaments that players can choose: Street Skate Session, Big Wave Encounter, and Wood and Water Rage. Players can either put their skills to the test by skateboarding or surfing, which is very cool. While skating, you must accelerate, collect coins and avoid hazards such as holes, Frisbees, toy cars, oil spills, and caution signs. While surfing, you must catch the waves to earn lives and points while avoiding hazards such as birds, bananas, planes, and more.
Design. The developers of the game did a great job with the designs of the beach areas such as the street skating and the waves as well. The game's characters resemble the mascots very well too, they are known as "Da Boys". The music of the game fits the whole setting, taking place on the beach, most likely Hawaii.
Rantings. What bothers me about this game is that there are no more stages besides the ones you start with, because this game is about how long you can last the harder it gets. Also, controls for this game are very excruciating, because players will have to learn to balance themselves on the surfboard more than on the skateboard.
Good Aspects. The game is unique for a sports game, it is fun to play and has a cult following among gamers of the old days, just like myself.
Overall. Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage is a good game, and my final score for this game is a 6 out of 10.
