Plot. The galaxy is in total darkness, the Galactic Empire has overthrown the Old Republic, and submitted the galaxy to it's tyrannical rule. On the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk, Darth Vader leads the Imperial Fleet to kill a Jedi Knight named Kento Marek. When Vader defeats Marek in a duel, he discovers his young son, Galen, who Vader sees him powerful in the ways of the Force. He trains the boy in the ways of the Sith. After a few successful missions, Galen Marek, now known as "Starkiller", is betrayed by his master. Now, remorseful of the path he has chosen, he embarks on a quest to renounce his Sith past, and become a Jedi. This also leads to meet allies against the Empire, which can form a rebel army, known to be soon as the Rebel Alliance.
Concept. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an action adventure game. In this game players embark on 13 different missions, in which at the beginning they battle against Jedi Knights, but later, they start fighting against those who betrayed Starkiller. The game has a concept that is different from the previous Star Wars games, and you only fight with a lightsaber, and not use a blaster.
Music. The music of the game was composed by Mark Griskey. Mark's composing of the game has a lot of similarities to that of John Williams' composing. The music was recorded at Skywalker Sound on September 23 and 24. It was released as a promotional album for listening.
Voice Acting. Most of the voice actors are from the cartoon series, and most of them are from many other video games and anime. But the only voice actor to reprise his role from the three prequels was Jimmy Smits. Jimmy is remembered for playing as Senator Bail Organa in Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.
Sequel. On December 12, 2009, LucasArts revealed The Force Unleashed II with a teaser trailer showing Galen Marek. Yoda and Vader can be heard on the trailer. The game was released on October 26, 2010.
Rantings. The one thing I dislike about this game is that the lightsaber is like a baton, that it doesn't slash through many different things. Also, the bosses can be very cheap and difficult, which is a bother as well. My most hated boss was the Star Destroyer fight, in which you have to pull it all the way down into the planet, while avoiding firepower of many TIE Fighters. Slicing through things is what truly defines the lightsaber's aspects. Another thing that bothers me is the high difficulty of various stages.
Good Aspects. The game's graphics are very well made, and also the gameplay. Also I really like the storyline of the game, which takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The graphics of the game, made the characters look very realistic. I think that this type of advanced CGI is like the way of the future in video games.
Overall. The Force Unleashed is a must for many Star Wars fans that were dying for more since Revenge of the Sith. The game has a lot of replay value, and it's worth playing. I give this game a 9 out of 10.
