Amy Hennig resigned from Naughty Dog on Monday March 2nd. Sources indicate that Amy was "forced out" by the writers of the hit video game "The Last of Us", Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, and explained that the Uncharted series may have now come under their control.
Hennig recently celebrated her 10th anniversary with Naughty Dog, where she served as director and writer on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Her work was recently profiled in IGN’s The History of Naughty Dog. Now, all I can think about is this: Since the writers of The Last of Us have taken over, are they planning to make Uncharted dark and grittier? Because if they do, I will greatly miss the funny down-to-earth treasure hunter Nathan Drake and friends. As much as I loved The Last of Us, I don't like the idea of re-imagining Uncharted with a darker tone, because it would just not fit as the very same hit game series that everybody knows and loves.
Well Amy, all I can say is this: Thank You so much for such great games you've provided for all of us fans of PlayStation and thanks for inspiring me to play this game. Just so you know, it wasn't just the PSN reality competition series The Tester Seasons 1 and 2 that inspired me to play Uncharted, it was you as well Amy. So Amy Hennig, good luck to you.
God Bless and Play Hard Gamers!
