Castlevania II: Simon's Quest was released in Japan in August 28, 1987, then released in America on December 1st, 1988. This game is the direct sequel to the original Castlevania, and in this game, Simon Belmont makes his return. This game is different than the first game, deriving from a linear castle, to different places such as: villages, mansions, graveyards, forests, swamps and finally the castle of Dracula. Also the game features day and night sequences, which makes this game unique in it's own way.

Castlevania was originally released in Japan on the fall of 1986 and then came to North America in the Spring of 1987. This is the first game of the series which introduced its first and most popular hero, Simon Belmont. The vampire slaying game lives on and continues its magic through the years and the retrospective is memorable for this game. Since Halloween is slowly creeping upon us, I will start with the Castlevania series. The Castlevania series has been a respected franchise since the release of the first game. However, this one of the most fun yet challenging games made by Konami, known to be the creator of game franchises such as Contra, Metal Gear, Silent Hill and more. Now to begin a nice Halloween this year, let us review Castlevania. Plot. The year is 1691, and Transylvania has been at peace for 100 years thanks to the efforts of Christopher Belmont. But some wicked-hearted people rise the plea to revive the evil vampire lord Count Dracula. The good people cry for a hero, and then that's where Simon Belmont comes in, he sets out to Castlevania to fight Dracula and his underworld minions. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a tactical role-playing game created by Intelligent Systems. Originally released in Japan in February 22, 2007 and later in North America in November 5, 2007. This game is a sequel to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the Gamecube, which also featured FMV cutscenes as well. Plot. Radiant Dawn is divided into four parts. The First Part begins with a resistance group known as the Dawn Brigade, led by Sothe and Micaiah, to drive the greedy Begnion Empire off of Daein, after the country lost the war to Crimea, and the death of Mad King Ashnard. In the second part, Elincia has ruled Crimea for three years, but there are many people against her rule, and the tyrannical Duke Ludveck of Felirae, is determined to overthrow her. Then, Gallia goes to war with Begnion for the destruction of the heron forest of Serenes, this war causes a worldwide conflict, which in the next part becomes a battle to save the world from a dark goddess, who almost awakened during the Mad King's war. Originally released in Japan on April 20th, 2005, then it was released on American grounds on October 17, of the same year. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance was the very first Fire Emblem on a console to be released worldwide, since the first two Fire Emblem games released in North America were for the GBA. Fire Emblem was not very well known to the American gamers, until the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee, in which Marth would debut overseas. Plot. In the distant continent of Tellius, there lived a young man named Ike, who lived with his father Greil, leader of a band of mercenaries, and his sister Mist. Ike becomes the newest member of his father's mercenary group, the Greil Mercenaries, and completes his first mission by saving a village sacked by bandits. One day, the kingdom of Crimea, is deliberately, and unexpectedly invaded by the neighboring kingdom of Daein, ruled by the Mad King Ashnard. The last surviving member of the Crimean Royal Family is Princess Elincia, who requests the help of Ike, and the mercenaries. When Greil dies in combat against a former apprentice, known as the Black Knight, Ike's destiny is settled. He joins with many allies, including a humanoid-shape shifting race of animals, birds, and dragons known as the laguz. They march from Crimea, to Gallia, and Begnion to join with other allies and put a stop to Ashnard's tyranny. |
