This game is the sequel to 1997's WCW vs. nWo World Tour, and Revenge had major improvements since World Tour.
Plot. Since this is only a sports related game, there is no plot outline. But at least I can show you the intro of the game, and old gamers will enjoy living those great memories.
When the Special Meter is filled, players must get the opponent up, taunt, and then slam for their signature moves when the meter says "Special", after it is filled and after taunting as well. I played WCW vs nWo World Tour during the summer of 98, and to tell the truth, I liked Revenge a lot better because it was more improved.
Concept. Players can choose one out of 50 superstars, in which they can play in Championship Mode. There are different championships that players can win such as: World Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, Tag Team, World Television, and United States Heavyweight. WCW/nWo Revenge is played up to four players, and they can also play in exhibition matches and even in Battle Royale. Also, players can choose different arenas for the first time since World Tour: Monday Nitro, Halloween Havoc, Super Brawl, Bash at the Beach, Souled Out and Starrcade.
Design. The game is rendered in 3D and characters have polygonal looks. The referee only appears in fighting sequences, when there are some moves, he appears at the bottom screen as an animated character making expressions when wrestlers inflict pain on their opponents which is awesome.
Memories. In Christmas of 1998, my cousin's stepfather bought this game for his N64, and we spend hours of fun playing this game. I would usually play this game either when I lend Ocarina of Time in exchange for the game, or when I would visit him during sleepovers, or hangouts with his friends. In the summer of 1999, the days were even greater as we had visits of old friends and some hangouts as well. Sometimes we would take a break from playing Revenge and then play games like Mario Kart 64, GoldenEye, and Star Fox 64, oh memories.
Rantings. Well, I think that a few things were missing such as Ric Flair, and some WCW Divas as well, which in my opinion they should have been playable. Only divas appeared with Macho Man and Eric Bischoff, and they were Kimberly and Elizabeth. The divas should have been playable and bring more such as Gorgeous George.
Good Aspects. You will highly enjoy this game, it has a million great qualities, great replay value and also playing with your friends makes this game the best wrestling game ever made in 1998, and then in 2000, WWF No Mercy took over. I really wish that games like this were on the Wii Virtual Console. Nintendo Wii should stop putting corny Wii Ware games and start bringing back the glory of the 90's with games like this.
Overall. This is a must play, I bought the game at a pawn shop, and I still enjoy it up until this day. This game gets a 10 out of 10.
