KAMEHAMEHAAAAAAA! What's up people? Today's special is a top 5 of the sagas of my favorite anime, Dragon Ball Z. I have been following DBZ since 1997 when I first saw it on WPIX on Sunday mornings and I never missed an episode. DBZ is one of my most favorite animes apart from other animes such as Ronin Warriors, Saint Seiya, Pokemon, Gundam series, GoLion (Lion Voltron), Dairugger XV (Vehicle Voltron), Rurouni Kenshin and God knows how many other animes I really love. Inspired by MoChocolate's top DBZ villains, I am inspired to do the DBZ Sagas myself. When I lived in Dominican Republic, I was watching the uncut version in Spanish, the WAY it was meant to be seen. No censorships, more awesome actions, EVERYTHING. I saw Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. And speaking of Dragon Ball GT, I didn't like it so much, but thankfully as reported it's non-canon. But I gotta say that my favorite saga in GT was the Super 17 saga, which was short, but sweet. Enough of GT, now, let the countdown begin 5 - Androids Saga. I liked the saga of the androids. The action was pretty cool and it also marked the first time that my second favorite DBZ character, Vegeta became a Saiyan for the first time. And I never forget his memorable quote in that time when he was fighting Android 19, when he said: I AM THE PRINCE OF ALL SAIYANS ONCE AGAIN! Boy, that's when he REALLY wanted to surpass Goku, because since the former is a low class Saiyan, Vegeta is a prince and he felt that a low class warrior surpassing him was not just dishonor, but complete humiliation. 4 - The Saiyan Saga. The Saiyan saga is what started it all, when Goku's first opponent from his birth planet is none other than his older brother Raditz. The fight between the Z Warriors and Nappa is one that I'll never forget. Yet I remembered how I saw Tien's arm be taken off by Nappa himself during the fight, but it was still awesome how Tien battled even with one arm. Kinda like Future Gohan during the History of Trunks movie. Most memorable quote of the Saiyan Saga is: IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND! WHAT 9000?! 3 - Cell's Tournament. After Cell became perfect by absorbing Androids 17 and 18, I knew that this was going to be one hell of a battle in the history of Dragon Ball Z. And it was true, this is like one of the best battles in history and although Goku was no match for Cell, he still proved how much of a major bad ass he is. If you ask me, Superman is a weakling compared to Goku. Goku could kick his ass instantly. 2 - Frieza Saga. The Frieza Saga is my second favorite saga in the series. The fights were awesome, the story was epic, and it also marked Goku's very first time in becoming a Super Saiyan. My favorite fights before Goku's arrival to planet Namek was Vegeta against Zarbon, Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta against Guldo and Recoome. Funny moments in that one was with the Ginyu Force. Their poses are parodies of Japan's hit series, Super Sentai, which was adapted into the Power Rangers in America. 1 - Buu Saga. To me this is like the best of the sagas. It was longer, the fights were incredibly awesome, and fusions rocked the house. Except that Gotenks was very overconfident, some of his techniques were pretty corny, like the ghost thing he did. But still Gotenks was funny. This also marked the very first time that we saw Goku turn into Super Saiyan 3, which to me is the best Super Saiyan form, he looks a lot better than his Super Saiyan 4 form. The Buu Saga was longer than Cell's Tournament and it still kicked a lot of ass, especially when he turned into Kid Buu. Well folks that is my list of the best sagas in DBZ. Though an honorary mention is the Trunks Saga because, it was kind of short since it was just him coming from the future to warn Goku and the others about the Androids. Now my least liked saga in the anime is the Garlic Jr Saga, because I think he was like trying to submit the world to his will with the Black Water Mist and characters acting like vampires or demons or something like that. Not only that, but also to get his revenge on Gohan after what he did to him in the events of the movie, The Dead Zone. Well DBZ fans, that's all I got to say.
