Well, luckily those two got nothing to do with Uncharted, since the reports indicate that the director of Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief, Seth Gordon, is being approached by Sony Pictures to take the role of director of one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history. Now, I really don't think that Uncharted should be adapted into a movie, because the game is just like a movie, better said, an interactive movie.
As for the script writers, David Guggenheim's first draft was so impressive that he was asked to write the script for Bad Boys 3. Other screenwriters that were approached were Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. But Sony got the hint, and stopped asking the duo to write it. Now let's see how this director does with Uncharted, hopefully he'll stick to the story unlike other directors such as Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel, Steven E. De Souza, Justin Marks, Uwe Boll and Paul W.S. Anderson who butchered a lot of video games along with others as well.
Now I am always against movies based on video games as I said, because since Super Mario Bros was adapted almost 21 years ago, Hollywood decided like "Oh let's appeal more to gamers by butchering their favorite video game franchises". Now some movies based on video games were good such as: Mortal Kombat, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 1 and Apocalypse. But the majority sucked such as Street Fighter, Double Dragon, Doom, Hitman and a lot of them. I believe that if you're gonna make a movie based on a video game, can you at LEAST stick to the damn storyline and make it animated? God almighty, Hollywood can't think anything more than adapting video games these days!
God Bless and Play Hard Gamers!
