Now, what I'm about to say to day is that IGN stated today about this subject is the following: A decade-long study of over 11,000 children in the UK has found no association between playing video games from as young as five, and mood or behavioural problems in later life.
Originally published in the British Medical Journal (via Games and Learning), the findings were part of the UK Millennium Cohort Study and sought to explore how exposure to screen entertainment affected children's psychosocial development. The key findings that came out of the study included that exposure to video games from the age of five was shown to have no effect on behaviour, attention or emotional issues. Neither television nor video games caused attentional or emotional problems and there was no difference between boys and girls in the survey results.
Even though I played MK in the Arcades when I was 7, I never killed anybody. NEVER. Because I was taught to learn the difference between the real world and the fantasy world. But unfortunately, the American, British and Australian governments may consider those people who made those studies as nothing but "witches", then go like: BURN THE WITCH! BURN THE WITCH! I said it before, and I'll say it again: People have been killing other people since the dawn of man. For centuries, humans have killed over race, religion, nations, resources and words in books. But since accusing video games has become a thing for the media like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and ABC and also political figures and anti-video game activists such as: Jack Thompson, Ralph Nader, Dianne Feinstein and Jay Rockefeller. I call them the Four Horsemen of anti-video games.
Whenever a tragedy occurs, that is the only scapegoat that the media and politicians can think of, video games. It's never that the shooters were all mentally ill or had troubles with bullies in school or college. Never a logical explanation whatsoever. When Columbine occured the media accused Doom and Duke Nukem for such thing because Harris and Klebold thought they were the main characters of both games. Virginia Tech, blame Counterstrike, because they said that Seung Hui-Cho pretended to be the main guy of that game. Aurora, they said James Egan Holmes thought that he was the Joker from The Dark Knight. Sandy Hook, they blame Mortal Kombat, Mass Effect and Dynasty Warriors, because Adam Lanza pretended that he was either Kurtis Stryker, Lu Bu, or Shepard. Then the Navy Yard occurs and blame Call of Duty and GTAV, because Aaron Alexis thought he was Captain Price or Alex Mason, or thought he was Michael Townley.
Not only that, the morons of the NRA say that video games are the problem when such events occur. Then after Sandy Hook, those Hollywood hypocrites making a public service announcement to demand gun control thinking that it will make things better. Why do you Hollywood morons say Demand a Plan, when YOU'RE the ones carrying guns in movies and tv shows, you might as well have real guns in your house. You're a bunch of hypocrites you know. Gun control does not make things better, and your commercial is a direct assault on the 2nd Amendment rights. What do you have against the Bill of Rights? If you know the answer tell everyone.
I have a godson, and so far the only game he plays is Minecraft since he's five years old. It's good for him to play Minecraft, because it teaches him how to build things, not only that, it trains your brain too. God forbid that someone puts him to play Call of Duty, because he's too little for that game. Now, I know how angry I can get whenever something tragic occurs when some sick man or woman shoots a bunch of people in cold blood, I equally get angry when the media, PETA, IDA, NRA and politicians blame video games for random acts of violence. You know, you should blame reality shows for why kids are acting more and more stupid and becoming teen moms as well.
