Plot. In an alternate timeline, Goku dies from a heart disease, but this is just the beginning of the horrors that were still to come. Six months later, two powerful androids attacked the city, and the Z Warriors were killed: Piccolo, Vegeta, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, Yajirobe, and Krillin as well. Many years later, Gohan and Trunks train together to defeat the Androids. Gohan attempts to defeat 17 and 18 on his own, and died in battle. In the actual timeline, Gohan and the others learn that Frieza has not died, and begins an assault on Earth, but thankfully, Trunks arrives and defeats Frieza and King Cold with ease. Trunks arrives to warn Goku, who survived the explosion on Namek, about the arrival of the Androids. And so begins another battle to save the Earth, but this time, there is a much greater threat than that of the Androids.
Players still have to complete chore-like quests in order to reach their goal, and also many more sidequests to fight bosses from the anime and the movies as well. Another playable character is Hercule, which is obtained after the Cell Games and obtaining all trophies. Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and Trunks can transform into Super Saiyans, while Piccolo removes his cape and hat, making him lighter and faster.
Concept. Players begin in the History of Trunks storyline, where they learn about Future Trunks. Then they take the role of Gohan and many other characters, starting from the Trunks Saga to the Cell Games saga.
Design. The design of the game is the same, except that it has better graphics, sound effects, and even the Super Saiyan aura sounds, which was a great thing to do of course. The movie sequences are only seen in the game's intro, but not during gameplay, like the last game.
Rantings. What bothers me is that still, sometimes the animals such as big dinosaurs prove to be a challenge for the heroes during some training. Another thing that bothers me is that even if you level up, you have to gain strength, stamina, speed, and power with capsule pellets. Come on!
Good Aspects. This game turned out to be better than the first game, it has more replay value, it's more enjoyable and a lot better. If you have a GBA, then this game is a must, it is also played on the original Nintendo DS by adding your GBA cartridge into it.
Overall. Legacy of Goku 2, gets a 7.9 out of 10.
