Dead Island is a video game created by the developers of Call of Juarez: The Cartel. And this new zombie game is scheduled for release on September 6, 2011. Now the game has a good mixture of first person perspective with RPG elements, in which players can obtain skill tree and experience points. Also, weapons will have a stamina bar, which means that after reaching it's limit, players have to find yet another one to fight against the zombies. In dark areas, players need to use flashlights during night time sequences, adding more suspense and scare to the game. Now it's time to review the plot outline, so let's get to say goodbye to the summer of 2011 with a good scaredom of zombie survival.
Plot. The game takes place in the Palms Resort, in the fictional island of Banoi, located off the coast of Papua New Guinea. The character wakes up with a man shouting at them to respond in order to ascertain that they are not a zombie. After they respond, the man puts the bat away and replies that he doesn't think he would have gone through with the act of killing them. Once they awaken, they wander around the shack where other survivors are hiding out. There you are approached by a young woman asking you to help the lifeguard outside. They then leave the shack and find a lifeguard fighting off several zombies. The character then picks up a dingy paddle and kills the attacking zombies. The lifeguard thanks the character, then guides them to a lifeguard station which they secure with other terrified survivors/tourists. He then explains that they are going to need food if help doesn't arrive soon, and suggests that they help other survivors around the station. After this, you drive to a nearby lighthouse, and encounter the leader there, a man called Jake. He tells you he argued with the lifeguard on where they should hold out and decided to leave with some of the survivors. He then asks you to help the survivors around the lighthouse. Now as for the design on the zombies, they look muscular, stronger, and agile, and also there are new types of undead that are far more difficult to kill than a standard zombie. These new types of enemies are called: The Butcher, The Suicider, The Thug, The Ram, and The Drowner.
- The Butcher: A humanoid shaped zombie with no arms from the elbow, with bones sticking out of the sockets.
- The Suicider: A large enemy with boils upon it's body, heavily disfiguring it.
- The Thug: It will knock players over, stunning them
- The Ram: A large man, wrapped in a strait jacket with a mask covering it's mouth
- The Drowner: A disfigured enemy covered in slime with red eyes.
