Plot. The graphic novel opens up with Terry Sloan, narrating the events of the Apokolips War that occured three years prior to the great battle that claimed the lives of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman and we then see Mr. Terriffic seeing visions while traveling through a portal. Later, news of the new Wonders of the World are spread all over the world with the sightings of Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and the Atom. Although they have defeated The Grey, in Earth 2: The Gathering they must band together again to fight another evil. Meanwhile, Steppenwolf has returned with plans for another invasion, alongside his new ally, Fury.
Writings. The script writing was so excellent that many lines and words were so incredibly powerful and cool. James Robinson actually made an incredibly awesome job at writing both The Gathering and Tower of Fate.
Panels. Nicola Scott did an amazing job in designing and drawing the characters and the world of Earth 2. I actually liked the new suits of Flash and Green Lantern, because of course, they can't have the same suits all the time. Alan Scott's suit reminds me of Hal Jordan's suit during the Parallax storyline and I actually liked the suit as it looks awesome. Jay Garrick's helmet and suit were also well made, his helmet is not like the one his classic counterpart used to wear, and adding a visor was just cool. Now Dr. Fate looked really awesome, instead of his suit being blue colored like in the classic comics, it's black colored but his helmet is still gold.
Impressions. Last year, many old comic fans were impressed at the altered origins of Jay Garrick and Alan Scott. Alan Scott being rebooted as an openly homosexual media mongul was suddenly all over the news, and of course some of the old fans were outraged at this because to them it feels so forced nowadays. Of course, we all know that the classic Alan Scott had a son and daughter, Jade and Obsidian (who was actually LGBT). Now I was actually impressed that Dr. Fate is actually Muslim, which reminds me of Green Lantern Simon Baz, who is also a Muslim. I also thought that the appearance of Fury was actually awesome, she was total kick ass in her first appearance.
Overall. Earth 2: The Tower of Fate is an awesome graphic novel of The New 52 universe. Although I loathed The New 52 when it first came out 2 years ago, actually Earth 2 made me consider that it's not such a bad reboot, despite me not like the altered origins of Superman and Catwoman. Earth 2: The Tower Fate has a great storyline, paneling, and writing. I highly recommend you pick this up at your local comic book store or Barnes and Noble. Enjoy! A+
